Everybody knows this fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen. I painted Snow Queen in her Nordic World surrounded by the frozen beauty of ice.
This is a multipurpose item, so you may use it as you wish.
It can be worn as a scarf.
It could also be a wall decoration.
It can be framed or hung as it is.
The creation of this original silk painting included several steps. First I made a drawing and traced it onto silk. Then, I painted a light blue background to make the whole picture to have an icy glow. Then, I outlined the design with resist. Next, I painted the picture with fabric dyes.
They are set by professional steaming process, so the silk dye bonds with the silk at the molecular level. The colors are very brilliant and permanent. They don’t fade, even after repeated washing.
Silk dye leaves no texture on silk, so it stays smooth and soft.
I used 100% silk crepe de chine.
It could be washed by hand or dry cleaned if necessary.
